Dr. Vijaykanth Mahendrakar MD.
Dr. Vijaykanth Mahendrakar, a dedicated resident of Imperial, brings 11 years of medical experience to our community. He earned his medical degree from the Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences in India and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Shreveport, LA.
With extensive medical research experience, Dr. Mahendrakar served as a Primary Care Physician at Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District Hospital’s Rural Health Clinic from 2016 to 2023. He is now a valued member of the professional team at Dr. Alidad Zadeh Primary Care, part of the Imperial Valley Family Care Group (IVFCG).
Dr. Mahendrakar is dedicated to delivering high-quality primary care, ensuring that our patients receive essential healthcare services locally, and fostering a healthier and stronger community.
Johnnie Cyr MSN, APRN, FNP-C.
Johnnie Cyr is a resident of the city of Brawley, she completed her Registered Nurse degree in 2013 and has extensive work experience in the hospital setting. Her postgraduate education included a BSN in 2015, and FNP-C in 2020. Johnnie Cyr is a Family Nurse Practitioner with our professional team at Dr. Alidad Zadeh Primary Care with the Imperial Valley Family Care Group (IVFCG).
Johnnie Cyr is committed to providing preventive care in our community, focusing on annual wellness exams for all our patients, education, mammograms, colonoscopies, medication management, and other preventive tests and practices to ensure a longer and healthier lifestyle for our patients.
Jessica Ruiz Cuen DNP, FNP-C, RN.
Jessica is a resident of the city of El Centro and has extensive experience working as a registered nurse for over 15 years in different hospital settings including Oncology, Pediatrics, OB, Emergency department, and Medical-Surgical floor.
Jessica completed her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2010 from Imperial Valley College and obtained her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) in 2015, she has recently completed a Doctorate degree as a Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2024.
Jessica grew up with a desire to help her underserved community, and she feels passionate about contributing to the well-being and healthcare needs of the patients she serves in the Imperial Valley.
Keri Valdez FNP, RN.
Keri Valdez is an El Centro resident and is a member of our providers' team at Dr. Alidad Zadeh’s Family Practice with the Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group (IVFCMG). Keri’s experience in health care started in 2005 as a registered nurse in the hospital setting on the medical-surgical floor and as a dedicated Home Health nurse with special training in Palliative care.
Keri has been working as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) providing great compassionate care to the residents of the Imperial Valley community since 2019 after completing her certificate program from the United States University.
Keri states “I strive to provide quality care to the community and treat every patient as I would like to be treated. I hope to leave an everlasting impact on each one of my patients’ lives. I want my patients to always know that I care! Working with Dr. Zadeh’s team allows me to expand my knowledge and be the provider I always wanted to be! Here at Dr. Zadeh’s Family Practice, we have an amazing group of providers, medical assistants, and office staff who create a great positive working environment”.
Oscar Chavez FNP
Oscar Chavez is a resident of the city of El Centro, and he is now part of our providers' team at Dr. Alidad Zadeh’s Family Practice with the Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group (IVFCMG). Oscar’s professional experience started in 2002 in the hospital setting as a Registered Nurse in the operating room. Oscar has been working as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) since 2014 after completing his certificate program through the United States University.
Oscar brings many years of experience in preventive family practice; Oscar is passionate about providing care for patients with diabetes mellitus and any other health problems, his goal is to improve the quality of life and the level of care of his patients by promoting a healthy lifestyle and good balance nutrition.
Rick Fitzsimmons
Rick Fitzsimmons is proud and excited on joining Dr. Alidad Zadeh’s Family Practice with the Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group. Rick was born and raised in Michigan. In 1980, he graduated from Madonna University with BSN and began a nursing career at the University of Michigan in the Burn ICU. He also has experience in Emergency care both in both pre hospital and hospital care. In 1986 received a Master’s in Nursing and then in 1987 moved to El Centro to work at ECRMC. He was a Professor for the IVC Nursing Program, until he retired after 27 years of service. In 1997, he completed a post graduate course for Family Nurse Practitioners through Clarkson College and was Nationally Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). He has 26 years of experience in Family Practice in Brawley and El Centro.
Rick’s medical care focus is on preventive health care, acute illness and chronic diseases. Rick works in collaboration with his patients to promote a healthy lifestyle.
